About `11:15 am Monday Houston Police from the Kingwood Division responded to a disturbance call at 200 Northpines in the Kingwood Apartment complex. A woman called and told officers there was a confrontation with another man over a parking spot and the male spit on her. The officers went to the male’s apartment to make contact with him. As they stood in his doorway talking with him he produced a pistol and began to fire on the officers. One officer was hit once in the abdomen and twice in the arm. The second officer who was in very close proximity had no time to draw his weapon but immediately went hand to hand with the shooter, taking him down. HFD transported the officer to HCA Kingwood Hospital, just a few blocks away. He is a list in critical but stable condition with two gunshot wounds to the arm. His vest stopped the bullet that hit his abdomen. The officer has been with Houston Police for just over 11-years. The shooter, who has not yet been identified was not injured. He will be transported to Houston Police Homicide Division. From there he will be transported to the Montgomery County Jail. The Montgomery County District Attorneys Office is assisting in the investigation.
