INTERESTING FACTS ON DRINKING AND DRIVING BY WARREN DIEPRAAM. Sunday night Cypress Creek EMS was transporting a patient when they were involved in a crash at the intersection of Spring Cypress and Champion Forest Drive. Two vehicles were heading south on Champion Forest and had a green light. As one vehicle started through the intersection he was struck as well as a pickup that was turning right onto Spring Cypress. Both drivers said they did not hear a siren or see lights but one of the drivers did say when the ambulance hit the ditch it’s lights were going. Another Cypress Creek unit responded to the scene to transport the patient from the first ambulance. Immediately after the crash there appeared to be smoke coming from under the hood, an extinguisher was used but no flames were ever seen. There were no other injuries.
