At 4:15 pm MCHD dispatchers received a call for a major accident on FM 149 just north of SH 249. Units arrived to find a 60-year-old male trapped in the vehicle. Medics determined he was deceased. DPS responded to the scene to investigate the crash. A witness said she was traveling south on FM 149 approaching SH 249 when the northbound black 2015 Chevrolet pickup crossed the southbound lanes, went across a grassy area next to the bridge, and hit a large pine tree. Montgomery County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Matt Masden responded to the scene for the inquest. He ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. Investigators believe it could possibly have been a medical episode. The driver of the Chevrolet, 60-year-old Bradly Webb out of Magnolia, TX, died at the scene.
