Montgomery County has felt the impact of a global microchip shortage as officials search for available Chevrolet Tahoes needed for law enforcement agencies. However, Montgomery County Purchasing Director Gilbert Jalomo had some luck locating 30 of the vehicles at Parkway Chevrolet in Tomball. During a special called meeting May 17, county commissioners approved the $1 million purchase of the vehicles that will be needed in the upcoming year. He noted 20 of those vehicles will go to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and 10 to the county’s constable departments.
