Jean Spillman: Excitement over snow was short lived when it also brought no power or heat

It has once been said, “Be careful what you wish for.” I learned a valuable lesson during this winter of all winters. I love snow. Sitting by a window in front of a roaring fire watching the snow fall for me was the perfect dream. Friends and family in cold climates just shake their heads and tell me I am welcome to all the snow I want. I will admit that every time the weather reports possible snow I would really get excited, but most of the time it never happened so I had given up on weather predictions. That was until I woke up on Feb. 15 and saw the proverbial blanket of white. It was beautiful. Not a blade of grass could be seen.
