Peggie Miller: Walden developer, humanitarian succumbs to virus

Rigby Owen (Jr.) called this week to tell me about the death Feb. 5 of Sylvan Conrad “Connie” Weil, Jr. He died of complications from COVID-19 at age 89. “While Connie Weil’s preeminence as a developer was publically recognized, some of his many charitable undertakings were lesser known,” Rigby said. “He had a lot to do with the restoration of downtown Conroe’s Crighton Theatre.
