Tuesday night just after 9 pm James Ray Moore, 46, of Willis was walking in the roadway in the 11800 block of Old Montgomery Road. A motorist who was traveling westbound on Old Montgomery did not see Moore and hit him. He was pronounced deceased on the scene at 9:39 pm by MCHD Medics. Willis Police were assisted by DPS and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation. The female motorist did submit blood as in any fatal crash, however, she was not injured. No charges are expected. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the scene for the inquest and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
