Jack Shepherd can’t wait to portray one of his favorite heroes of Texas history again. Shepherd, 85, often portrays Charles B. Stewart — an early Montgomery resident who is recognized as the designer of the Lone Star flag. He’s done the portrayal for school groups and events, but there haven’t been so many of those in 2020 and early 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
