Family to celebrate Willis woman on birthday, days after death in freeway crash

A Willis woman’s family will celebrate her birthday just days after she died early Saturday when struck by a vehicle on Interstate 45. Shantrell Goodnight recently announced her 24th birthday on Facebook, said her great aunt, Elvira Nixon. Now, her family will be gathering to commemorate her at a 5 p.m. Thursday event at MLK Park in Willis.
