At 9:30 pm Christmas Eve Conroe firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire at the Villas on the Lake apartments at 17578 Highway 105 West. They arrived with smoke and fire visible. Conroe was assisted by Montgomery and North Montgomery County Fire Departments. The fire was confined to an unoccupied apartment. The Conroe Fire Marshal has determined the cause to be accidental and involved a heating /cooling unit. One firefighter was injured with non-life-threatening injuries and transported to the hospital.
