Woodlands long-time HR director leaving for new job

There are more than 500 employees at The Woodlands Township, most of whom were hired by one person: Human Resources Director Susan Welbes. Now, after 22 years of recruiting, reviewing resumes and vetting candidates for the township, the face applicants first see in their orientation is bidding adieu to the staff she helped build. On Dec. 16, Welbes will say goodbye on her last day of work before beginning a new career with Travis County.
