BURGLAR SHOT AND KILLED IN NEW CANEY

BURGLAR SHOT AND KILLED IN NEW CANEY

Just before 10 pm Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary in progress on Pankey Drive in New Caney. While en route dispatchers stated that the resident had shot the burglar after the burglar came after him with a hammer. Units arrived on the scene to find a Hispanic male in his 20’s with several gunshot wounds. MCHD responded along with Porter Fire Department but the burglar was pronounced deceased. According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, the homeowner was out of town and a friend was house sitting when he heard noises outside. When he went to investigate the Hispanic male approached him in a threatening manner causing the house sitter to shoot him. No charges are being filed at this time. The Montgomery County District Attorneys Office is assisting in the investigation. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn responded to the scene for the inquest and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the deceased to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. Neither the burglar nor shooter have been identified by investigators.
