SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER WEDNESDAY WILD SPLENDORA CHASE HAS EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL HISTORY

At 6 am Wednesday morning a Splendora Police Officer was southbound on I-69 at Fostoria when a black Chevrolet pickup approached him at 117mph. HE attempted to stop the vehicle which then sped up. Multiple units set up on I-69 waiting for the vehicle to approach. Traffic was quite heavy. As the vehicle approached Roman Forest the driver jumped the ditch and ran through the red light at the intersection. He then ran across the ditch again, make a left turn, and started traveling north in the Southbound lanes with traffic coming at him. When the driver got to Lucille he once again crossed the ditch, went a short distance into the neighborhood when he drove into a pasture. With the area sealed off multiple agencies, Precinct 4, Roman Forest, MCSO, and Splendora Officers began searching. When they got onto the property of Yellow Brick Nursery they found the truck backed into a new greenhouse, destroying it. The driver was not with the vehicle. After over an hour of the owner of the greenhouse and the Saddle Creek Towing driver, they were able to partially dismantle part of the greenhouse and get the truck out. The truck was believed to have been stolen from Auto Nation in Spring on Saturday. At about 7:30 am Montgomery County Deputies stopped an individual walking in the 18800 block of I-69. After identifying him it was found he had an open warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Harris County. Not long after Splendora Police were in contact with Auto Nation in Spring who provided them with video of the vehicle theft. The person in the video was the same person arrested by deputies earlier. Matthew James Wolski, 31, of 17907 Mantana in Spring now remains in the Montgomery County jail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest with prior convictions, and criminal mischief of $2500 to $30,000. In addition, he has a hold from Harris County for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle with an $888,888.00 bond. Wolski has an extensive criminal history.
