On November 7, 2020, at about 8:00 pm, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence located in the 29800 block of Indiana Ave in Magnolia, Texas for a welfare check. A citizen contacted dispatch and advised that a male acquaintance confessed that he had killed his roommate. Upon arrival at the residence, deputies observed the strong odor of decomposition. The Homicide – Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Lab Investigators responded to the scene and made entry into the residence where they discovered the victim, a 28-year-old white male, deceased in a bedroom. Detectives found obvious signs of foul play on the victim, and in the residence. Detectives had information as to who the suspect was. They were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest. Just as they obtained the signed warrant for the suspect while still on the scene, the suspect, 28-year old Brian Guerrero of Magnolia, drove up in the victim’s vehicle and was immediately arrested Guerrero for murder The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene and assisted in the investigation. Homicide detectives worked through the night and after close to 18-hours completed collecting evidence from the scene.
