Did you know that each year, countless Texas children suffer from abuse and neglect? All too often they are victimized by the very adults charged with protecting and providing for their care – the adults that these children need and love. In addition, the stress of living in a pandemic has increased domestic violence in many homes. Unfortunately, in society’s efforts to come to the aid of these children, child abuse professionals often inadvertently cause these children additional suffering as our civil and criminal justice systems were not generally created with child victims in mind.
