A 45-year-old Magnolia man with previous convictions was sentenced last week to four separate decades-long sentences by a Montgomery County jury. On Thursday, jurors in presiding Judge Lisa Michalk’s 221st District Court sentenced Roy Welton Kirtley in a case where he strangled a woman trying to break up with him as her sons tried to free her from him, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
