The city of Willis will host a special meeting Wednesday that will include a public hearing for a proposed tax increase. According to public hearing notice posted by the Montgomery County Tax Office, the city of Willis has proposed a tax rate of 62.95 cents per $100 valuation. That is the same rate as the voter-approval tax rate, which is the highest rate the city may adopt without holding an election to seek the voter’s approval for the tax rate for the city.
