An immigrant from Honduras has died of COVID-19 while in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement at a Conroe detention facility, the agency announced Wednesday. Fernando Sabonger-García was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. last Friday at the Conroe Regional Medical Center. He is the first case of coronavirus death under ICE custody reported in Texas and the sixth in the country.
