One day before the Sam Houston Bearkats wrap up their 2024 season in the New Orleans Bowl, they hired a head coach for the 2025 season. Sam Houston hired Phil Longo to be the program’s second head coach since jumping to FBS status. Longo will succeed K.C. Keeler who recently accepted the Temple vacancy after 11 seasons with the Bearkats.
