NEW WAVERLY — Beginning the season without three of its starters, the Burton girls basketball team showed plenty of fight in its first game of the new campaign. A 58-43 defeat at New Waverly opened the 2024-25 campaign for the Lady Panthers with plenty of lessons for a Burton group with just six players at its disposal.
