In 2005, Conroe ISD found itself as one of over forty districts around the nation in the center of a legal battle with the University of Wisconsin over the logo or a shared “W.” Due to the success of the Woodlands High School sports during those years, TWHS had been receiving more media attention than ever. The media attention caught the notice of UWIS, who allegedly felt the ‘Woodlands Mark’ logo used by TWHS was very similar to the UWIS ‘Motion W,’ as both logos had the ‘W’ standing straight, according to a Sept. 2007 article in The Cron.
