Commissioners recognize the impact of domestic violence and SAAFE House’s efforts to support survivors and raise awareness. In alignment with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Walker County Commissioners Court officially proclaimed October as a month dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence. The proclamation brought attention to the wide-reaching effects of domestic violence and its impact on individuals and the broader community. During the session, Tammy Farkas, Community Relations Director, and Tracy Stoudt, Executive Director of SAAFE House, were present to witness the proclamation signing.
