PORTER, TX — On February 16, 2024, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies assigned to the District 3 Patrol Division responded to the Gregory Apartments in Porter, in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, deputies learned apartment management had witnessed two males breaking into unoccupied apartments to steal the appliances. Due to the swift actions of the deputies on scene, one suspect was located and detained quickly. The second suspect fled the area on foot. MCSO Deputies, Constable Precinct 4 Deputies, and Texas DPS Troopers surrounded the area. MCSO K9 units were utilized to track and locate the suspect who was taken into custody after a brief manhunt.
