Monday evening a Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy was on his way home when he got a LOJACK alert in his patrol car. (LoJack is a stolen vehicle recovery and IoT connected car system that utilizes GPS and cellular technology to locate users’ vehicles, view trip history, see battery levels, track speeding, and maintain vehicle health via a native app). He tracked the vehicle to Brian Blvd in Splendora. As he approached the home to inquire about the stolen Ford F 250 in the yard, a male who came to the door placed a gun to his head and crawled behind a couch in the living room. Additional deputies responded to the scene including Montgomery County Precinct 1 Mental Health Officers. A Precinct 4 Lieutenant, who was in the room with the armed suspect was able to talk the suspect into pushing the couch further from the wall to give the suspect who was complaining he couldn’t breathe, additional air. THe suspect complied at which time deputies were able to taze him, disarm him and take him into custody. The suspect was identified as David Wayne Bailey, AGE 54. Bailey was arrested for theft $2500 to $30,000e and felon in possession of a firearm. He also was out on $105,000 in bonds out of Harris County. He was charged back on July 1, 2023 for evading arrest with a motor vehicle, after fleeing from Houston Police. He also was charged with unauthorized absence from a correctional facility. This after he was ordered by the 339th District Court in Harris County to remain at the correctional facility as part of a plea agreement for multiple other charges. By pleading to the possession of Meth the other charges of evading arrest, burglary of a habitation, theft of $2500 to $30,000, and felon in possession of a firearm were dismissed in the Harris County 339th District Court. Even after getting the deferred probation and being sentenced to the facility, two motions to adjudicate that probation were filed on his 5 year term. The first was one month after his sentencing when he tested positive for meth. Additionally for possessing a firearm. He was due in court tomorrow morning to face the motion to revoke charge and the newer charges. Bailey has a long history in Harris County dating back to 1989 for charges including theft, prostitution, delivery of a controlled substance, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. and burglary of a building.
