A proposal from the city of Conroe to lease the decommissioned veteran’s park in downtown gained no support from Montgomery County commissioners Tuesday. In a May 25, 2021 dated letter to the court from Mayor Jody Czajkoski, city officials were seeking use of the property for “outdoor dining and merchandising” in exchange for crediting the county $2,000 per month toward building permit fees. The terms of the agreement would be five years with one five-year renewal term.
