COVID, distemper outbreak closes Montgomery County Animal Shelter

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter has closed temporarily as it battles not only COVID-19 cases with staff members but an outbreak of distemper in its canine population. The shelter is expected to be closed for intake at least two weeks and will not be accepting any new animals. The shelter will be open for adoptions Tuesday through Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
