The Sam Houston Bearkats are fresh off their first 10-win season as an FBS program, and now they hope to sustain that success under a new head coach in Phil Longo. Longo, who spent the 2023 campaign as Wisconsin’s offensive coordinator, already helped the program land a former 4-star quarterback in the transfer portal. Mabrey Mettauer announced his transfer from Wisconsin to Sam Houston on Sunday, following Longo from Madison, WI to Huntsville, TX.
