PORTER, Texas – In a time-honored tradition, the Porter Fire Department welcomed its new Engine 122, a 2024 Pierce Enforcer, by pushing it into the station. Members of the B/shift transferred the tank water from the old engine to the new one, symbolically carrying forward years of service, according to the department.The former Engine 122, a 2013 Ferrara, has been reassigned as Engine 129 and will serve as a ready reserve apparatus. It will be utilized when frontline apparatus are undergoing maintenance, during emergencies to increase staffing, and by the Professional Development Command at the training field, stated the Porter Fire Department.
