THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Firefighters were dispatched early this morning to a report of smoke at a Whataburger location in The Woodlands. The incident occurred at 30330 FM 2978, next to the Woodlands Parkway Walmart.Truck 105 and Engine 105 from The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) arrived on the scene and reported light smoke in the kitchen area. Upon investigation, firefighters discovered a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit as the source of the smoke. The power to the air handler was disconnected, and the store was ventilated, according to a press release from TWFD.The Magnolia Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District assisted TWFD in managing the situation.
