SAN JACINTO COUNTY, Texas – A fatal hazmat crash on F.M. 1725 in San Jacinto County has led to road closures and exposure to hazardous materials, affecting students and residents.The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the identity of the driver involved in the crash as 54-year-old Michael Rider, of Buna. According to officials, approximately 3,000 pounds of sulfur dioxide spilled in the crash. The roadway remained closed Saturday afternoon from Dabney Bottom Road to Gale Haven Road as crews continued the cleanup process, according to the department.
