After girls swim coach John Dissinger’s mother passed away last year from cancer, he wanted to make a difference. As a five-year open water competitor, Dissinger invited the swim team to a charity swim event on Lake Conroe in Margaritaville on Oct. 5. The event was to raise money for MD Anderson Cancer research with the nonprofit Swim Across America.
