Montgomery County Veterans Honored at Texans Game

George Waters and Robert Putnam, WWII Veterans from Montgomery County were honored on the field during the Texans-Bears game on September 15th. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — At the Houston Texans home opener versus the Chicago Bears this past Sunday, two Montgomery County World War II Veterans were honored. Robert Putnam, 106, and George Waters, 103, were both on the field in the 3rd Quarter flanked by Texans Cheerleaders, as the announcer informed the fans of their service during World War II. Both men were born on June 12th, just three years apart. They attend the Lone Star Honor Flight Veterans Group (105) in Conroe each Wednesday to fellowship with Veterans of all periods of service and their wars, and were visited by Texans cheerleaders this past summer for their birthday celebration.
