SPRING, Texas — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of John Dennis Holmes III, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. On July 19, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force apprehended 20-year-old Mark Anthony Crooms Jr. in the 400 block of South Bender in Humble, Texas. Crooms has been charged with murder and is being transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
