A mosquito sample in Baytown tested positive for West Nile virus, the city announced Thursday. No human cases have been reported from the city, and authorities say the sample will be used to identify where to target additional treatment to reduce the spread of the virus. The announcement comes days after Montgomery County reported that a woman in her 50s marked the first human case this season amid 110 positive mosquito samples that came back in the area. The woman tested positive via a blood sample taken at an emergency room.
