Montgomery County officials warn people south of Lake Conroe about potential flooding; Lake Conroe temporarily closed

CONROE, Texas — Heads up to those of you who are south of Lake Conroe. Heavy rainfall in Walker County and Montgomery County could lead to significant flooding. According to the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the storms have sent a tremendous amount of rain toward Lake Conroe. The San Jacinto River Authority is currently releasing water from the lake but expects the need to increase the amount of water they’re releasing.
