Hundreds of people from as far away as Montgomery County and southwest Louisiana attended the always fun and energy filled Smith Point Volunteer Fire Department annual fish/oyster fry and fundraiser. Not only is the food always fresh and delicious, but the crowd really gets involved in the live auction. What makes the SPVFD auction unique is that every item is auctioned off in the live auction. The competitive juices really flow when several parties are bidding on the same item! And, that helps raise money so the fire department can purchase equipment and participate in training programs.
