The VFW Post 12223, also known as “The Birthplace of the Lone Star” post, has been a dream for Post Commander Michael John “Foy” Day after returning home from serving 33 years in the military. The post is a legacy the U.S. Navy veteran wanted to leave behind for the community, he said.
