The Conroe City Council took action Thursday that will help make a new $3.5 million education and visitor center a reality for the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park. The council unanimously agreed to lease .27 acres to the Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Commission for the site of the new facility. The lease is for 99 years at $100 a year and comes with an option for the commission to purchase the land after 15 years for fair market value.
