The detective uncovered the surprising revelation that deputies’ year-round uniforms in the 1970s were made of wool. Proof of the stiflingly humid county’s odd fabric choice is found in one uniform ensemble on view at the agency’s command post on 1 Criminal Justice Drive in Conroe.
