Conroe Police Department released the following statement on November 5, 2021 at 6:05 p.m.:. “On Friday afternoon Conroe Police Officers were dispatched to the pool area at Margaritaville Resort on Lake Conroe. 911 operators received an emergency call shortly after 3:30 p.m. about a 6-year-old female child found unresponsive in the pool. Life-saving measures were immediately started by family members and other witnesses on the scene. EMS arrived shortly after and transported the child to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands. The child was pronounced deceased at 5:00 p.m. after arriving at the emergency room. The family was on vacation and visiting the resort from out of town. The pool is heated and was open to the guests. Chief Christy sends his condolences to the family and other people involved in this tragic incident. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and Conroe Police Detectives are currently at the scene.”
