Splendora Police were dispatched to Southside Bank at FM 2090 and I-69 Tuesday after they received a call of a possible forgery. They arrived to find two black males that had presented checks for over $2000 each. The tellers were able to determine the checks were fake. The tellers stalled the two as they notified the police. With a forty-second response time, Splendora Police arrived at the bank. They learned that Gordon Anderson III, 62, who said he was homeless in Houston, and Gregory Pleasant, 59, of 3401 Fanning in Houston had just left another bank in Kingwood and cashed two checks over $1900 each that were also fake but not caught by the tellers at that bank. Both suspects were transported to the Montgomery County Jail and booked on forgery of financial instrument charges. Bond was set at $23,000.
