The Montgomery County Tax Office is letting residents know a postcard regarding taxes they have received in the mail is not a scam but required by law. According to Tax Assessor Collector Tammy McRae, in accordance with Senate Bill 2 from the 86th Texas Legislature, Montgomery Central Appraisal District began mailing out the postcards to all taxpayers in the county last week.
