Just before 3 pm Walker County units attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on I-45 about 8-miles north of the Montgomery County line. As they did the vehicle sped up and pursuit was called. At speeds over 100 miles per hour. The 2013 Chevrolet Equinox which was reported stolen in Conroe continued south into Montgomery County. Walker County called for Montgomery County assistance. They continued south on I-45 to FM 830 then west to Longmire. Then south to FM 2854 and west toward Montgomery driving on the shoulder and the grass.. As they got to Fish Creek the driver turned south. At high speeds, he struck a vehicle at Woodforest Parkway. He then turned into a neighborhood at Durango Creek. With multiple units assisting he drove down Casita Circle which dead-ended. The driver turned in the culdesac and attempted to flee the close to a dozen patrol cars. He struck a Montgomery County K-9 unit almost head-on and lost his right wheel which launched to the doorstep of a home. The driver tried to flee across front yards on three wheels but was cut off by a Precinct 1 Constable patrol unit. According to MCSO Lt. Spencer, the male has at least eleven open felony warrants, mostly out of west Texas. He now faces additional in Montgomery and Walker County. The suspect is identified as John Neighbors age 36. Walker County was assisted by Sam Houston State PD, Huntsville Police. Once in Montgomery County, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Precinct 1 Constables, Precinct 2 Constables, Precinct 5 Constables, DPS, and Harris County Precinct 4 Constables. Neighbors have an extremely lengthy record.
