Just before 8:30 this evening an explosion was reported at the Forum on West Panther Creek in The Woodlands. As Woodlands Engine 102 pulled out of the station a smoke column was already sighted. As the first trucks arrived they attacked the fire on a large transformer mounted on the ground. Inside that transformer was close to one hundred gallons of mineral oil used for cooling also burning. A breezeway was also on fire as was a building housing air conditioning equipment. The heat from the flames melted the siding on building five of the complex.
