Four years after Retired United States Marine Corps. Cpl Jimmie Edwards launched an effort to raise funds in his quest to move and expand the Montgomery County Veteran’s Memorial, state Rep. Will Metcalf, R-Conroe, announced Tuesday the park will receive $7 million from the Texas Parks and Wildlife to fund the park’s next phase.
