About 1:15 a.m. Friday Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office started receiving calls of a possible dead body in the roadway on FM 1314 in front of Porter High School. Units responded and found an adult male deceased in the roadway. DPS is investigating the crash. They believe it was a hit-and-run crash. After the initial vehicle contacted the victim at least two other vehicles are believed to have struck him in the eastbound moving lane of traffic. The male was dressed in dark clothes on an unlit part of the roadway where the speed limit is 55mph. DPS determined non of the two vehicles that stopped after partially striking the victim were not involved in the initial incident as there was no damage to the vehicle. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jason Dunn responded to the scene for the inquest. . He ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for identification and autopsy. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables assisted as did the Montgomery County District Attorneys Office. DPS is asking anyone with any information to contact the New Caney DPS Office.
