Just before 10 p.m., Wednesday Caney Creek firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 17700 block of FM 2090. Just down from their station, they arrived within minutes. What they found was a motorhome totally involved under a shed. Cut and Shoot and Central Montgomery County firefighters assisted them in extinguishing the blaze which totally destroyed the motorhome. A thirty-gallon propane bottle under the motorhome never ignited but firefighters were concerned for a period of time as it was venting to the rear. According to officials the owner heard a loud popping earlier and thought it to be weather-related. When his wife came out a short time later she saw the flames. The motorhome had just been serviced on Wednesday and the owner had been preparing for a weekend get-away.
