With the rains last night came some very high straight-line winds. Many trees came down many of which were in the Cut N Shoot area. Commissioner Mett’s Crews were out just after midnight already clearing trees from the roadways. Some were unable to due to power lines tangled in them. Fostoria Road was closed as was Mann Road, Milmac, Waukegan, Tram, and several others in the Magnolia area with trees and lines down. Commissioner Metts is now concerned about Peach Creek as it is already four feet out of its banks and rising. It has not yet reached any homes near FM 2090 in Splendora. MCPR will be monitoring it. Old a05 has water across the road at South Walker as does Old 105 near Faulkner. At Noon the level of Peach Creek at FM 2090 was at 99.34. That is -04 over the 10-year flood frequency. During Imelda and Harvey, it was just over 106-feet. It continues to rise at a rate of about .03 feet every 15-minutes. Caney Creek at FM 2090 is currently at 127.92-feet at 12:30 pm. It is slowly rising but is still well within the banks. A Flood Watch continues, but additional rainfall today and tonight are not expected to be as significant as what we have already seen. Expecting an additional 1 to 3 inches, with the heaviest rainfall primarily south of I-10.
