The Lake Conroe drowning victim identified as Magnolia businessman Austin J. Tasler was recovered Just after 1 pm this afternoon. He was located in 21-feet of water. Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constables Marine Unit, Walker County, Conroe Fire, NMC Fire, and Texas Game Wardens have been searching since about 4 pm Saturday afternoon when Tasler and several friends were boating and decided to jump in for a swim in the 57-degree water. Winds at the time were closed to 15 mph causing large swells on the lake and causing the boat to drift. The other boaters onboard were no familiar with the lake so getting a good starting point for search crews was difficult. That along with heavy rains over the past few days and heavy fog on Monday night. Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack responded to the LAke and ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the Tasler to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy. Mack said a common denominator of the drownings he has made on Lake Conroe is victims not wearing life vests.
