Last Thursday Montgomery County Precinct 5 Deputies were responding to a civil standby call in the 22000 block of Allyson Road in Magnolia. While en route it was learned the male fired a shot at his daughter who was attempting to move off the property. The call was then upgraded and multiple Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies also responded. As deputies approached the suspect identified as Thomas James Mahon, age 64, fired on them with birdshot striking one deputy in the face and torso. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Montgomery County SWAT responded to the scene and after a several-hour standoff, Mahon came out of the home peacefully. Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon’s Office requested a $100,000 bond on each of the aggravated assaults on a peace officer charges. However, Montgomery County Associate Judge Blustein cut that in half. He kept one bond at $100,000 and dropped the other two to $25,000 each. A $100,000 bond was posted on Sunday and moments ago the other two $25,000 bonds were posted and Mahone walked out of the Montgomery County Jail.
